Update: 4/21/08 I've been forced to turn off the image display in the module, because other "customized" avatars are not being shrunk down. Not as pretty in my layout, and I don't feel like messing with the code, so I'll be on the lookout for other module solutions. Free (software) is as free (software) does. Laughing

Update: 4/3/09
I noticed last night, that the 2.0 extension is still glitching, presenting certain images non-thumbnailed (doesn't seem to matter if they are giif, jpeg or png). The software might need an adjustment to the php? No idea right now. I suspect it has something to do with Tweets who upload large "custom" images. Hmmm.

I've been using the nice Tweets Module v1.2 from Vaneldijk Extensions for Joomla, on my home page, for a couple months now. It's a module that allows you to present your tweet stream, or your's and your friends (the setting I prefer), at the moment of page upload. As the page is refreshed, the tweet stream is refreshed.

The 1.2 version was good, but had a tendency to post huge pics, instead of thumbnails, kind of randomly, disrupting the pristine design flow of my blog (pristine, yeah right). I just updated to their recoded, completely new version 2.0 Tweets Module Relaunched, and it seems to be holding up pretty well, so far.

I like how the Relaunched version turns the web page links into live links.

Hmmm. They've got a Mail2Joomla 2.0 extension, I'm going to keep my eye on (for posting to a Joomla site, from email). It's commercial (€39) so I haven't bitten yet. However, the concept is ideal for my more tech-phobic clients.  Would be nice to give it a test drive, if that were available.
